On Monday, November 27th, the Partnership for After School Education (PASE) celebrated its 30th anniversary by ringing the New York Stock Exchange Closing Bell. PASE CEO Alison Overseth served as the official bell ringer and NYSE Chair Sharon Bowen served as the official host for the group, which included PASE staff, Board and Junior Board members, PASE program participants, and youth-serving community-based organization leaders.

On November 15, the Partnership for After School Education (PASE) gathered education, youth development, and human services leaders from across New York City to remember Richard Murphy, former Commissioner of Department of Youth Services, and to honor Reverend Dr. Alfonso Wyatt, Founder of Strategic Destiny: Designing Futures Through Faith and Facts, with the 2023 Richard Murphy Leadership Award.

On January 25, Partnership for After School Education (PASE) convened over 60 education stakeholders from across New York City and New York State for a half-day symposium at Neuberger Berman’s headquarters, entitled “(Re)imagining a Recovery Agenda: Leveraging the Science of Learning for Youth Success.”

PASE and ExpandED Schools recently held a strategic discussion on literacy. We are sharing a summary of that conversation with the field, and look forward to building partnerships in this effort.
Staffing and capacity affect this topic as well as many others, and we are resharing our earlier summary on staffing issues in the afterschool field as well.

In our 2015 College Persistence report, PASE outlined the role afterschool plays in ensuring that students get to and through college. Extending that work, through a grant from the Teagle Foundation, we further explored afterschool's role in the college transfer pathway.
