PASE leads the field in offering professional development for beginners, advanced practitioners, program managers, and executive directors of afterschool agencies. PASE offers both centralized trainings at our offices for practitioners from various agencies and on-site training and technical assistance tailored to meet the specific professional development needs of one's organization. Unless indicated, trainings are open to the entire afterschool field.

5/14 – Girls Scouts Leadership Programs This Training is Full and Closed
PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES FOR GIRLS & YOUNG WOMEN THAT YOU SERVE
Girl Scouts is using its 100th anniversary to continue its legacy of leadership and inclusion with a goal to create balanced leadership in one generation. To accomplish this, the ToGetHerThere cause seeks to partner with community based organizations to help girls reach their leadership potential. The Girl Scouts of Greater New York would like to partner with your organization to incorporate the Girl Scouting into your after-school or summer programming for girls in Kindergarten-12th grade.
Girl Scouts has exciting new ways for girls to participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. After school and summer programs can offer a wide range of relevant topics and skill building activities that are gender specific and aligned with common core standards.
Please come to review Girl Scouts program materials, sample activities, and find out how your program can provide a fun and educational experience that builds girls of courage, character, and confidence who make the world a better place!

5/16 - Afterschool KidzScience Information Session Click for More
Come learn about inquiry based science developed for out-of-school time settings. In partnership with the Lawrence Hall of Science, Developmental Studies Center, the developers of KidzLit and KidzMath, now offers KidzScience. The KidzScience series explores Physical, Life and Green sciences and provides activities that are engaging and easy to lead. Each kit in a series includes four session guides that provide clear and concise step-by-step directions with questions to stimulate student thinking. At this session, we will sample activities and unpack the components of KidzScience.

5/22 - Positive Youth Development This Training is Full and Closed
Positive Youth Development (PYD)
Harlem RBI's peer educators The BASE have designed this interactive Positive Youth Development workshop for staff directly working with teens (13-21). In this workshop, youth serving organizations can build their capacity to implement positive youth development efforts by understanding the benefits of working collaboratively, understanding youth-adult partnership strategies and setting goals that can be applied to existing programs. Take advantage of the fabulous opportunity to experience young adults facilitating session on how best to work with them. If you have staff new working with young adults or need a refresher on principles of positive youth development, don’t miss the opportunity.

5/24 - Welcome the 2012 Olympics! Fostering Multiculturalism and Global Learning in Your K-6 Summer and Afterschool Programs! This Training is Full and Closed
This hands on workshop will introduce participants to Tanenbaum’s K-6 World Olympics curriculum and their work in multicultural understanding. Participants will learn about and experience The World Olympics curriculum’s literacy-based lessons that stress the importance of respect, inclusion and fair play while providing youth the opportunity to collaborate on, create and participate in their own Olympics event. Through research of the cultures of countries from around the world, hands on activities about young people’s own histories, various academic, arts and sports activities and games, youth learn to appreciate what makes each of them unique and come to appreciate differences. Each participant will receive a copy of the recently updated World Olympics curriculum. Cancellation Policy: If you cancel no later than payment date, as indicated in each training description, PASE will issue a refund (minus $5 for administrative fees) or you may opt for a workshop voucher. Cancellations must be made in writing. Send an email to: registration@pasesetter.org
Refunds or vouchers will NOT be issued to registrants who do not send written cancellation. There are no refunds or vouchers for cancellations made after the cancellation date. Vouchers can be used towards any workshop. Vouchers must be used within one year of the date of issue.
PASE reserves the right to cancel any training and every effort will be made to reschedule the event. If PASE cancels or reschedules a training, PASE will issue a full refund or you may opt to apply payment towards the rescheduled date or another training of your choosing.
