Empowering Dreamers as an UndocuAlly

October 13, 2023 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

Navigating the challenges of being an undocumented student, a struggle shaped by the influence of policymakers and their supporters, often involves deciding whether to reveal or conceal one's status.

In order to register for this event you need to create an account or login first.

Among the hurdles that hinder their path to higher education, the lack of financial support from federal, state, and higher education institutions is a prominent barrier. This obstacle affects their decision to attend college and their ability to persevere once enrolled. Research indicates that the journey of undocumented students through college becomes more tenable when they can rely on a supportive member of their network.

Through this in-person workshop, participants will understand what it means to be an ally and, most importantly, an UndocuAlly. Participants will familiarize themselves with the challenges undocumented college-bound students and college students face and will learn about resources for these students so that they can feel empowered to support them in navigating college and beyond.
