Summary
Title: Program Director LEAP
Reports To: Vice President, Afterschool
Location: 2471 Morris Ave (Base) Multi locations 120 E. 184st, 125 E. 181st
Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10am to 6pm
Salary: $65,000 - $72,000
Job Summary: The Program Director will be responsible for the overall development, implementation, and supervision of the Afterschool LEAP program at MS 363 and Creston Campus. He or she will be the liaison to school staff and responsible for required documentation and reports. This is a year-round position and will require periodic availability for weekend training and supervision.
Qualifications
- B.A. in a relevant field required or SACC Credential per regulation along with 3 years in youth development programs and Supervision Required.
- Must have excellent organizational, budgeting, oral and written communication and networking skills.
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite and DYCD Connect.
- Must commit to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
Duties
- Provide overall leadership and supervision of the LEAP afterschool program.
- Oversee the coordination of LEAP enrichment activities and curricula.
- Input of program data.
- Supervision of Subcontractors and supporting staff
- Ensure program’s compliance with NY State, Department of Health, DYCD and COA accreditation requirements
- Liaise with the principal and designated school staff to align afterschool activities with school goals
- Collaborate with other Program Directors and Education Specialist on academic goal setting for the program and the staff training needed to meet those goals.
- Ensure the implementation of parent engagement activities.
- Provide daily crisis intervention with participants regarding personal and/or in-school issues that affect their behavior and attendance
- Develop linkages within the school and the community
- Participate on appropriate school-based teams or committees
- Create linkages with and provide feedback pertaining to student support and educational achievement programs within the school
- Complete required narrative and statistical reports
- Monitor program expenditures
- Ensure the safety, security, and cleanliness of the site
- Participate in weekly supervision.
- Attend all staff meetings and required professional development activities.
- Collaborate effectively with GSS Peer Programs and support departments (e.g., Development, Finance, QI, Human Resources, IT and Training)
- Responsible for two culminating events
- Perform other duties as assigned.
