Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10am to 6pm
Salary: $65,000 - $72,000
Job Summary: The Program Director will be responsible for the overall development, implementation, and supervision of the grade K – 5th After School and summer programming. The Program Director will serve as the primary contact to the principal, and school administration. The Program Director will ensure high quality programming and contract compliance with respect to private, federal, state and city government agencies overseeing program funding and licensing. This is a year-round position and will require availability for weekend training requirements and supervision of special events or activities.
Qualifications
- B.A. in a relevant field required or SACC Credential per regulation along with 3 years in youth development programs and Supervision Required.
- Must have excellent organizational, budgeting, oral and written communication and networking skills.
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite and DYCD Connect.
- Must commit to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
Duties
- Provide overall leadership and oversight for the 150+ participant after school and summer program.
- Liaise with the school administration, teachers, and custodial staff to facilitate seamless operations and integration of the community, staff and expanded hours into the overall school culture.
- Recruit, interview, hire, manage, supervise, and train 15+ program staff and volunteers. Identify and provide leadership development opportunities for staff growth and development.
- Assess, evaluate, and observe programming on a consistent basis.
- Work closely with Education Specialist to identify, develop, and implement lesson plans and activity plans
- Creating, implementing, and overseeing schedules and calendar for all. activities. Ensure program activities and content are comprehensive and support initiative goals and outcomes.
- Oversee the participation and engagement of participants.
- Responsible for inputting participant level data into funder databases to ensure compliance and program mandates.
- Ensure the safety, security, and cleanliness of the site.
- Collaborate with support departments around compliance, risk management, contracting, grants, program evaluation, H=human resources, learning and development and finance. Complete required narrative and statistical reports.
- Participate in appropriate school-based teams or committees.
- Develop relationships with school and community stakeholders to communicate the goals of the initiative and ongoing concerns about students' needs.
- Act as primary contact for parents/families.
- Work with school and CBO fiscal staff to create and manage the program budget and ensure related financial reports are provided in compliance with LEAP requirements.
- Ensure program’s compliance with New York City Public School, DOHMH, and Council on Accreditation (COA)requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
