2018 Summer Arts Institute for Middle School & High School Students

Summer Arts Institute is open to all New York City Department of Education (DOE) public school students entering grades 8 - 12 in the Fall of 2018. The Institute, July 9 - August 3, 2018, offers a unique opportunity for students to work with DOE arts specialists, partnering cultural organizations, and guest artists. This experienced team of arts professionals guides students in building a portfolio or audition skills for their next level of study - an arts-focused high school, college, university or conservatory. Students can major in dance, theater, instrumental music (band), vocal music, film, string orchestra, or visual arts. The program is designed for students at an intermediate or advanced level of study in their chosen discipline Admission to the Institute is by application and audition. Applications are due January 19, 2018. Auditions will be held March 4, 2018.

American Museum of Natural History's Summer Internship for College Students

The Museum Education and Employment Program (MEEP) at the American Museum of Natural History is accepting applications for summer 2018. MEEP interns are responsible for developing and presenting themed tours to visiting camp groups, and engaging visitors at educational touch carts in the Museum halls. The program provides on-the-job training and exposure to careers in science, museum education, and related fields. Participants work closely with Museum scientists and educators exploring scientific content and learning valuable skills for working with and teaching learners of all ages. Teen Career Connection (TCC) at the West Side YMCA is an unparalleled internship program, providing NYC high schoolers an opportunity to crystallize their career path. TCC prepares students for the workplace by offering intensive professional development, followed by a hands-on learning experience matched to the student's career aspirations. SuperSTARS Leadership Academy Application 2018 -2019

PowerPlay NYC’s SuperSTARS Leadership Academy (SSLA) is a free year-long youth development program for High School girls. SSLA provides health and fitness opportunities, professional development, college readiness support, and leadership development. The program kicks-off with a required 4-week summer intensive program from July 9 - August 3, 2018. Program benefits also include MTA MetroCard to cover transportation, community service hours for High School, and trips to professional sports venues in NYC. Applications due April 30, 2018. Participants will be notified in June.
