​2018 STARS Citywide Girls Initiative College Fair​

The New York City Council-funded STARS Citywide Girls Initiative, is hosting a free college fair, 2018 STARS Citywide Girls Initiative College Fair. Open to all middle and high school girls and gender non-conforming youth in New York City, the fair takes place October 16, 2018 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at The High School of Fashion Industries. Meet with representatives from 35+ college, university, and support organizations. The event includes raffle prizes, including two $250 scholarships. Download a flyer.

Big Apple College Fair

The 2018 Big Apple College Fair takes place on October 21, 2018 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Javits Center, Manhattan. This free college fair offers attendees the opportunity to speak with over 200 college admissions representatives from New York State and as far away as California, Canada, and England, to name a few. In addition, the Big Apple offers a raffle for all high school seniors to enter. Ten lucky students will get a $2500 scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded every year of their four years of college as long as they hold a 3.0 GPA. No registration needed to attend. Please come early as doors will close after 3:45 pm. Applications Open for Teen Internships at Brooklyn Public Library

Brooklyn Public Library is accepting applications for two paid school-year internships for teens at Central Library and the neighborhood branches. Build personal, professional, and creative skills; earn a stipend, volunteer credit hours, and resume-boosting experience; and have fun and meet other teens from across the city. Through Youth Council & Urban Art Jamm teens plan and host BPL's largest teen event of the year, bringing teen artists and performers to the stage of BPL's Grand Lobby. Applications due October 15, 2018. Librarians of Tomorrow (LoT) helps teens to build professional skills, experience careers in libraries, and participate in innovative, hands-on projects, working with a mentor. Apply ASAP.
