Workshop: Fostering Global Competency among our Students

As a member of the Global Education Coalition of New York City (GEC-NYC), PASE is pleased to share a workshop, "Fostering Global Competency among our Students," taking place on July 22, 2014 at Bank Street College of Education. This workshop provides both formal and non-formal educators and school administrators with an in-depth understanding of global competency. Participants learn how to integrate global themes into the curriculum as required by the Common Core Standards and how to practically apply the concept of global competency in the classroom. Topics include conceptual frameworks on global and intercultural competencies, how to utilize cultural exchanges and technology to engage students with the world. Registration is $45 before July 1, 2014 and $65 after that date, and the registration deadline is July 15, 2014

Move This World Global Summit in Transforming Education through Creative Practices

Move This World, a global nonprofit that uses creative expression to address and transform conflict and bullying in communities worldwide, is holding its 5th Annual Global Summit in Transforming Education through Creative Practices in New York City from August 22-24, 2014. Educators, youth workers, thought leaders, creative arts therapists, students, artists, and social change advocates are invited to participate. Tickets cost $191 before July 1, 2014, and $225 afterward. Move This World is also seeking presenters to facilitate an experiential workshop, showcase your research, or perform as a featured artist. The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2014.

AfterSchool Works! New York Call for Presenters

AfterSchool Works! New York (ASW) has issued a call for presenters for the Third Annual Fall Western New York State School-Age Training Institute, to be held in Rochester, NY on November 1, 2014. ASW seeks innovative, creative, and engaging presenters interested in sharing proven and promising practices and strategies in afterschool. Proposals are due by June 27, 2014, and selected presenters are notified by July 8, 2014.
