Partnership for After School Education

Fostering Financial Literacy for Youth is a four-part workshop series designed to equip afterschool program staff with the knowledge, tools and resources to teach their high-school age youth to become financially savvy and in control of their financial futures,

Participants will be provided with provided financial literacy resources and lesson plans. The training includes a training of trainer session to help in transferring the information to youth. Fostering Financial Literacy for youth is funded by Voya.

Budgeting and saving is the foundation of financial literacy. It is critical for youth to learn to structure their spending and plan for the future, to develop the discipline early in life. This workshop will help staff teach their youth to set and keep goals through budgeting and establishing priorities.

James Gurney

James Gurney joined the Futures and Options team in June 2015. Prior to joining Futures and Options, James taught an undergraduate course at the University of Georgia on diversity and multiculturalism in American schools, developed curriculum for an online textbook transformation grant, and worked as an academic mentor for student-athletes. Anthony Kuzma

Anthony joined the Futures and Options team in October 2016 as a Program Coordinator. Prior to joining Futures and Options, Anthony worked at the Allegheny County Bar Foundation focusing on increasing legal representation and resources for underserved immigrants.
