Join us on January 21, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, to come together as a community to support each other's work. This session will focus on self-care and collective care in the workplace.
As the name implies, self-care places the onus of healing and wellness on the individual. While it is important that we care for ourselves to more fully show up to care for others, it often decontextualizes what true well-being can look like. For self-care to be sustainable at work, we need to make sure organizations prioritize collective care — different ways in which we can shift workplace culture to minimize urgency and burnout while maximizing co-regulation and balance. In this workshop, we will spend the first half of the session learning different mindfulness and somatic practices to bolster our own self-care and then spend the rest of the time imagining how our workplaces can support and sustain self- and community-care.
Take A Break with PASE (TABWP), a virtual townhall, was created in March 2020 to provide a space for the PASE network to come together as a community to support each other's work as we navigate the impact of the pandemic on our organizations. During the 2021-2022 program year, TABWP will continue to be a space to gather as a community to learn about and discuss important issues and share resources to support high-quality afterschool programs. Every other month, starting in September, TABWP will feature a variety of topics and include opportunities for the network to share how PASE might support the work of your missions.
