Biography

For 25 years Marcia L. Smith served on the senior leadership team at the Partnership for Afterschool Education, working with the organization since its inception in 1993. As Administrative and Fiscal Director, Interim Executive Director, and then Chief Operating Officer, she oversaw all the operational areas of PASE including fiscal and risk management, organizational development, Board of Directors development and relations, strategic planning, event planning and fundraising. Marcia earned the title of PASEsetter Event Queen, managing all events in addition to running 20 PASEsetter Award Benefits and working with and welcoming 100 PASEsetter winners to the PASE family. Prior to joining PASE, she worked as a consultant with the Arthur Ashe Institute of Urban Health, the Office of the Borough President of Manhattan, and Project Reach Youth. Marcia is a licensed attorney at law and practiced criminal law in both trial and appellate areas for 15 years. She has served on the non-profit boards of Cora Dance Company, the First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn, AllinBrooklyn, and Coat of Many Colors, Inc. Marcia holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Illinois and a J.D. from the John Marshall School of Law in Chicago. She has been married to Ken Andrichik for 29 years, lives in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, and is the proud mother of her third Airedale fur child, Ms. Scarlett O’Aire.
