Story-based Healing for Youth Well-Being
November 19, 2026 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Join us for an online interactive workshop where we will practice youth-centered, intergenerational, and culturally-grounded approaches to storytelling and healing with young people.
In order to register for this event you need to or first.
Youth development programs offer important spaces for youth to restore, heal, and have hope in hard times.
In this online training, we will practice tools including active listening, storytelling, and healing-centered engagement practices. The training will specifically examine patterns of interaction where youth and adults “get stuck,” and hone skills that help establish trust, dialogue, and collective care.
Participants will:
- Develop skills in storytelling, active listening, and life-mapping to engage youth in meaningful ways to promote mutual understanding.
- Learn key concepts of healing-centered engagement, including how to build trust and foster positive relationships with youth.
- Explore common challenges in relationship building, often mislabeled “communication gaps”, “disengagement”, and “resistance”.
- Gain strategies to effectively unpack these barriers and “get unstuck”.
