Charting the Path to College Transfer - A Guide for College Advisors at Community-Based Organizations

PASE Explorers

The PASE Explorers program offers activities that allow 4th – 6th grade youth in afterschool programs to experience global learning through local exploration. PASE Explorers provides young people the opportunity to explore the strengths of their own and other neighborhoods through activities such as neighborhood mapping; interviewing; digital photography projects; oral, written and digital presentations; and reflection exercises, among others. Through this experience, youth are able to see the larger context of the world in which they live. At the same time, this approach helps young people build skills essential to be successful global citizens including critical thinking, technology, teamwork, creativity, and communication.

Afterschool Youth Outcomes Inventory

A comprehensive tool for afterschool practitioners to use in assessing and articulating their programs' impact on youth. This inventory represents a collective effort to identify a full realm of outcomes for children and youth and present these outcomes in clear and accessible language. Programs can use this inventory to communicate their impact to variety of stakeholders as well as to more readily identify and measure this positive impact.

To ensure that snack time is easy, filling, educational, and fun, this cookbook includes easy to prepare recipes that require no cooking or special training and that can be done in regular program space.

The Arts Career Guide

Designed to introduce young people to the myriad opportunities that exist in the professional art world, and the many paths that can be followed to become an arts professional, the Guide includes profiles of professional artists, descriptions of nearly one hundred arts professions, key terms to know in the arts, and a directory of free and low-cost resources in all five boroughs of New York City.

College Prep Milestones: A Guide for Afterschool Practitioners

Using existing literature and research, PASE created College Prep Milestones, age-specific milestones for use by afterschool programs. The Milestones charts are organized by a student's stage in the college prep process and outline the academic and social-emotional readiness knowledge, skills, or preparedness critical to college success. The Milestones also includes activity ideas and sample lesson plans that afterschool programs may incorporate to support achievement of these benchmarks. This updated version includes an extended college years section and updated resoruces.

College Prep Programming Assessment Tool (CPPAT)

Self assessment tool for programs that focuses on indicators of college prep programming effectiveness in a variety of college preparation & completion domains for both middle school and high school youth. Programs can use the CPPAT to identify priorities & strategize any potential changes related to their college prep programming.

Community Convenings for Trinity Wall Street - A Summary of PASE’s Activities, Recommendations, and Learnings

With a generous grant from Trinity Wall Street, the Partnership for After School Education (PASE) collected information from local community based organizations (CBOs) in Lower Manhattan to assist Trinity Wall Street in uncovering the challenges CBOs face in working with public schools to provide significant and sustained educational programming for young people.
