Strategies for Connecting Literacy and Content Learning

February 11, 2026 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Literacy skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—are essential for students’ success in school and beyond.

In order to register for this event you need to or first.

Afterschool programs provide unique opportunities for children to build these skills through playful, engaging activities in a relaxed learning environment. In this online workshop, participants will explore the five pillars of reading and learn practical strategies for integrating these areas into content-based activities to build vocabulary, deepen comprehension, and strengthen foundational reading and language skills.
