College Can Be Affordable: Smart Strategies for Creating a College List

September 24, 2025 10:00 am to 11:30 am

Students can be leery of applying to college, fearing the high cost. This workshop will present both conventional and unconventional strategies students can use to find colleges that fit within their family’s budget.

Workshop participants will learn:
1. How college pricing works and why colleges use this structure
2. Methods for estimating how much aid students may be eligible for
3. List-building strategies for various types of students
4. What types of colleges are most likely to make the best offers

Kim Nauer, founder of the website Understandingfafsa.org, will share best practices for supporting students and families through the college financial aid process. Counselors will gain the big picture, key terms, milestones, and strategies to help students find a best-fit college they can afford.

In order to register for this event you need to or first.
