Summer Series

PASE hosts our “Summer Series” in the spring – content-based workshops designed to promote innovative practices and strengthen summer programming.

Topics range from Literacy Practices that Work in the Summer Programs and Theme-based Program Design to Supervising and Coaching Summer Staff and Fostering a Camp Culture. Additionally, we host an annual Summer Resource Fair which allows staff from summer programs throughout the city to meet with representatives from New York City cultural institutions, libraries, and museums to learn about their summer offerings and opportunities. Summer program staff are able to talk with the institutions about how they can work together to enhance and expand their repertoire of offerings for summer participants. The fair also gives the institutions the opportunity to connect with one another and identify other potential partnerships.

PASE believes all kids deserve a safe, nurturing space during out-of-school time where they have opportunities to explore their passions while connecting with and learning from caring adults. We exist to improve the quality of afterschool programs for children and teens living in poverty.
