Community Project Coordinator

Summary

The Community Projects Coordinator will implement various youth development projects. Our Community Projects are designed to engage community members, capture and elevate participant voices, and provide skill-building and experiential learning opportunities. The Project Coordinator is responsible for all Project facilitation, including participant recruitment, activity implementation, marketing, partnership, and stakeholder management. 

Qualifications

Experience and Background
  • Minimum 3 years of successful experience in Youth Development as a Project or Program Coordinator
  • Experience & commitment to working with high-potential youth 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with community members and consult with a diverse population
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring young people
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with diverse communities
  • Well-organized and demonstrated ability to prioritize 
  • Ability to work independently and to be organized in their work to ensure that tasks are completed on time
  • Ability to carry out administrative tasks on time and in a professional manner 
  • Computer skills: Google and Microsoft Office Suites

Duties

Support recruitment and communications processes, including:
  • Promote and recruit for the projects
  • Provide ongoing communication to participants and partners
  • Assist with the Development of application procedures & materials
  • Lead  the selection process for participants
  • Facilitate Project informational sessions for prospective applicants

Contribute to Project design, development, and Project management, including:
  • Design and implement the Project orientation and activities in conjunction with the Project design.
  • Provide insight on opportunities for Project development.
  • Track attendance and participation
  • Manage Project stipend procedures, materials, and distribution. 
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Project evaluation instruments and procedures. 
  • Supervise youth Project assistant, holding weekly meetings, allocating tasks, and tracking progress on deliverables.

Engage and foster relationships with an array of stakeholders, including:
  • Existing KAVI partners and other existing community-based resources
  • Build relationships with partner institutions, organizations, and individuals, including schools, opportunity and success Projects, colleges and universities, Workforce Development organizations.
