DYCD Program Director

Summary

The Program Director for DYCD School-Based Programs at the YM&YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood is responsible for leading and managing high-quality afterschool and youth development programs in alignment with DYCD regulations and organizational goals. 

This full-time leadership role oversees staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance evaluation while ensuring the successful implementation of academic support, STEM, literacy, social-emotional learning, mental health, inclusion, and physical fitness programming. 

The Program Director serves as a key liaison between the organization, school leadership, families, and community partners to strengthen engagement and student support.

 

Qualifications

  • An associate degree in Education or a related field is required. Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Two years experience working with youth in school-age programs.
  • Must meet all School-Age Child Care (SACC) site supervisor qualifications.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/RTE certifications preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Must be available to work day times, weekends, and evenings, as needed.

Duties

  • Managing site budgets, administrative operations, compliance documentation, data collection, and adherence to DOE, DOHMH, SACC, and DYCD requirements.
  • The position requires experience supervising youth programs, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to coordinate inclusion and mental health supports for participants with diverse needs.
  • Candidates should have at least an associate degree in education or a related field, supervisory experience, and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are preferred.
