Entrepreneurs & Youth Development Professionals Wanted - 2 Afternoons/Week - Harlem & Bronx
Summary
After-School Entrepreneurship Coach
Help young people see themselves as owners.
Ownership Is The Future is looking for entrepreneurs, business builders, creatives, and youth-development professionals who believe deeply in the potential of young people and the communities they come from.
Through our DYCD NDA Economic Mobility after-school program, you’ll spend two afternoons each week with a cohort of high school students, helping them explore entrepreneurship, develop real business ideas, build ownership skills, and turn possibility into action.
This is less about traditional teaching and more about showing up, building relationships, sharing what you know, asking great questions, and helping young people move their ideas forward - all with the support of our curriculum and fully developed pathway.
You do not need to be a traditional classroom teacher. We are looking for people who can walk into a room, build trust, make entrepreneurship feel possible, and help young people see themselves differently.
Qualifications
- Have experience in entrepreneurship and/or youth development.
- Know how to connect with young people without talking down to them.
- Feel connected and proximate to the communities we serve.
- Are energized by Black and Brown entrepreneurship, economic mobility, and community wealth-building.
- Can be consistent, encouraging, flexible, and real.
- Believe young people already have assets, ideas, and potential worth investing in.
Duties
- Facilitate engaging entrepreneurship and ownership experiences with high school students.
- Help students develop ideas, understand customers, create products or services, think about money, and prepare to pitch and sell.
- Build authentic relationships with students and create a space where they feel seen, challenged, and supported.
- Bring your own entrepreneurial, professional, and life experience into the room.
- Work alongside the OITF team to help students move from ideas to action to business launch.
