Summary

Program Overview: 

In collaboration with the Department of Education and the 21st Century Community Learning Centers, QCH will provide School Day and After-school services at the International High School for Health Sciences (IHSHS). Our team includes a Community School Director and Youth Counselor who work closely with IHSHS staff to ensure students' academic and personal development. DOE-certified teachers will lead Extended Learning Time classes that meet credit-bearing standards.

Position Summary: 

We are currently seeking dynamic individuals to lead afterschool clubs in areas such as 3D Printing and Fashion Design. The position is part-time (5 hours per week), running from October 2024 through June 2025. This role will involve working with students to deliver engaging and educational lessons that align with academic and personal development goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with youth aged 14-18.
  • High School Diploma with at least one year of teaching or relevant experience in an educational setting.
  • Ability to clear DOE PETS (Personnel Eligibility Tracking System) background checks.
  • Solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in leading clubs related to 3D Printing or Fashion Design is preferred.

Duties

  • Develop and teach engaging lesson plans tailored to students' needs and interests.
  • Submit lesson plans to the Community School Director in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Identify students who have not been attending and encourage their participation.
  • Collaborate with the Community School Director to address challenges in working with youth.
