Participant in the YA-YA Network Summer Institute

YA-YA Network

Summary

Summer Institute is a radical learning experience founded on the belief that, in their collective power, young people will rise up and address issues impacting their community as activists and organizers. In this stipend 7-week program, youth are trained in anti-oppression, organizing skills, and political education through transformative workshops and visits to city-wide organizations fighting for change. This is a great opportunity for youth new to advocacy and organizing, as well as those with more experience. We tailor our program to the cohort, and all are welcome to apply.

The YA-YA Network (Youth Activist - Youth Allies) advances youth organizing as a strategy for youth development and social transformation. Through training and leadership experiences, we prepare participants to become the next generation of activists in the movement for social and economic justice. We build the capacity of young people to influence policy, improve institutions, and change systems that directly impact youth, their families, and the communities they live in.
