Morgan Stanley PASE Summer Teaching Fellows

Partnership for After School Education

Summary

Do you have a commitment to education and service in underserved communities? Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience in an educational setting?  Join a select group of college students and work in New York City summer programs this summer. You will be placed as a trained educator in urban summer camps in one of the five boroughs in NYC to provide academic and enrichment activities to youth in kindergarten through High School.

After four years in a pandemic, the gaps for under-resourced communities are widening. After-school programs help fill these gaps by providing a supportive environment and a boost in academic assistance. This internship provides the needed support to afterschool programs and an opportunity to help narrow the gap.

Morgan Stanley Summer Teaching Fellows will join a network of educators, leaders in the field, and other professionals committed to expanding opportunities for youth. As a Summer Teaching Fellow, you will receive training in experiential education curriculum, have opportunities to meet and train with leading city community educators, expand your professional network, and help to manage and participate in PASE’s city-wide conference. Summer Teaching Fellows are part of a citywide initiative to strengthen the educational opportunities and learning experiences for low-income youth during the summer.

The program will start with a week long training to prepare students for their work in the field. Additionally, fellows will meet every week throughout the program for supervision, peer sharing, and presentations from guest speakers in the non-profit, education and business fields. Fellows will have an additional opportunity to network with PASE staff, board, community-based organization’s management, representatives from Morgan Stanley, our funder, and others with a vested interest in great outcomes for young people.
