Program Director, COMPASS
Summary
We are excited to invite applications for the position of Program Director for the COMPASS and 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) programs at Newtown High School. This leadership role offers the opportunity to shape and oversee impactful youth programs, ensuring alignment with QCH's mission and goals.
The Program Director will manage the overall coordination, implementation, and evaluation of these programs, fostering an enriching environment for participants and maintaining strong partnerships with the school, parents, and community stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: At least 3-5 years in youth program management, preferably within school or community-based settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in staff supervision, program development, and budget management.
- Strong understanding of youth development principles and evidence-based practices.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software tools.
Duties
Program Management
- Lead the planning, development, and execution of COMPASS and 21st CCLC programs.
- Ensure contractual compliance and achievement of performance goals.
- Create and manage dynamic schedules offering a diverse array of high-quality activities.
- Uphold youth development principles and safety standards throughout all programming.
Staff Supervision
- Recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate program staff, including coordinators, instructors, and volunteers.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and facilitate professional development opportunities.
Participant Engagement
- Cultivate an inclusive and supportive program environment for all participants.
- Gather feedback from participants to guide program enhancements.
- Implement strategies to increase participant enrollment and retention.
Community and School Partnerships
- Act as the primary liaison between QCH, Newtown High School, parents, and community organizations.
- Collaborate with school administrators and educators to strengthen program offerings.
- Organize field trips and outdoor activities to expand learning opportunities.
Administrative Oversight
- Manage program OTPS budgets effectively.
- Prepare and submit timely reports and required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Represent QCH at staff meetings, training sessions, and events.
- Undertake other tasks as directed by the Division Director.
