Saturday Night Lights Coordinator

Summary

Summary: The Saturday Night Lights (SNL) Coach is responsible for the development and coaching of the SNL Sports Recreation Program.  

Location: 1155 University Avenue Bronx, NY 10452
Schedule: Every Saturday from 4:30 pm-9 pm. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; working towards or possessing an AA or BA degree a plus.  
  • Must be at least 18 years old.  
  • Submit background checks in compliance with DOE, DYCD, DOH, and SACC regulations.  
  • Strong knowledge of sports and recreation, a minimum of one year experience in organizing tournaments and working with youth.  

Duties

  • Coach activities related to sports & recreation  
  • Coach annual tournament, participating in local & citywide tournaments & Olympics  
  • Organize various sports clinics.  
  • Recruit youth for specialized teams.  
  • Input attendance data into DYCD Connect  
  • Coordinate with other coordinators to host tournaments  
  • Assist the Program Coordinator in planning and organizing workshops for gym participants.  
  • Assist the Program Coordinator in supervising all the activities that are held in the gymnasium.  
  • Monitor and keep an inventory of all recreational and sports supplies, including Game Room supplies.  
  • Attend staff meetings when scheduled  
  • Submit weekly reports on a timely basis  
  • Inform the Program Director of changes or any irregularities.
