School Program Manager,
Summary
Press Pass NYC, the nonprofit helping NYC public schools launch and grow student news
publications, is hiring its first School Program Manager.
Since 2021, we've helped more than 40 NYC public middle and high schools start or revitalize student publications. Now, we're growing and looking for a Schools Program Manager to deepen the connections with our partner schools by visiting newsrooms, coaching advisers, meeting with administrators, leading professional development days, guiding student teams,
and working with the Press Pass NYC team to sustain high-quality school programs at scale.
Qualifications
You're a great fit if you:
- Have 3+ years teaching journalism or advising a student publication in a secondary
school - Candidates MUST have secondary school teaching and/or advising experience - Love both the classroom and the bigger picture of what journalism education can do
- Are a strong facilitator and communicator who makes educators feel seen, supported, and energized
- Thrive in a building-as-we-go highly collaborative environment where your ideas actually shape the organization
- Live in NYC area
