2020 Yankee-Stonewall Scholarship

The Department of Education, in partnership with the Stonewall Inn and the New York Yankees, is again offering the Yankee-Stonewall Scholarship. A $10,000 scholarship will be awarded to five outstanding, college-bound NYC high school seniors, one from each borough. The scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate strong academic achievement alongside meaningful support of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning or Queer (LGBTQ) community. All NYC high school seniors are eligible to apply, and each application must include two essays and one letter of recommendation from a teacher. Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2020.
