Teen Voices Festival

Join New York Public Library on August 7, 2024 to celebrate teen creativity at their Teen Voices Festival. This day-long event will take place at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building at the flagship Bryant Park NYPL location, and will feature guest speakers, behind-the-scenes peeks at library collections, hands-on activities, art exhibits, giveaways, and more. This year’s featured speaker will be Marley Dias, the founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks, a successful campaign to collect and donate children’s books that feature Black girls as the lead character. Reserve your spot for the event via NYPL’s Eventbrite.

National Summer Learning Week

National Summer Learning Week is coming up on July 15, 2024 – July 19, 2024, and National Summer Learning Association has prepared materials to help programs elevate the importance of summer learning within their communities. This year’s Summer Learning Week themes are literacy & learning; arts; wellness, health, & sports; STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math); and community & leadership.  Check out the Programs Toolkit for social media examples, templates for proclamations, curriculum resources, and more.

Five4Five Films 5th Annual Film Festival

Join Five4Five Films for their 5th Annual Film Festival on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 4:00PM-6:30PM at The Forum @ Columbia University (605 West 125th Street)! This free, festive event features a red carpet, food, live music, and original short films, including original short films from Five4Five Films students across the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn. This is a great way to kick-off summer and support local middle and high school filmmakers. RSVP today before tickets sell out!

2024 NYC Youth Agenda

Each year, the NYC Youth Agenda Steering Committee develops their annual Youth Agenda and policy recommendations by analyzing the Youth Ask Youth survey results, hosting policy generation events, and engaging in conversations with youth from all over New York City. On April 15, 2024, they will present the 2024 NYC Youth Agenda which includes their findings and policy recommendations in the areas of: mental health, environmental justice, housing security, education equity, and economic mobility.
