Chalkbeat's Student Voices Fellowship

Chalkbeat has opened applications for its 2023-24 Student Voices Fellowship, a paid essay-writing fellowship for public school students in New York City and Newark, New Jersey. With support and training from Chalkbeat journalists and writing coaches, students will pitch, write, edit, and publish personal essays, as well as receive training in journalism and storytelling. Eligible applicants will be rising 11th or 12th graders in New York City or Newark, New Jersey, and attend a public school or a charter school. Applications are due by Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:59 PM EST.
