Freedom to Read Advocacy Institute

Brooklyn Public Library invites young adults ages 14–19 to attend their Freedom to Read Advocacy Institute and become Freedom to Read Teen Ambassadors. This four-day, in-person program takes place from February 20, 2024 – February 23, 2024, and offers participants the opportunity to connect with peers to discuss book challenges, censorship, and intellectual freedom. Participants will receive a $200 stipend for completing the institute and will continue to work on advocacy projects throughout the year as Freedom to Read Teen Ambassadors. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through February 12, 2024.
