New York State Afterschool Program Accreditation

Run by the New York State Network for Youth Success, New York State Afterschool Program Accreditation is a step towards ensuring high-quality programming for children. The model emphasizes 26 quality standards which include safety, inspiring learning, and relationships. Interested programs participate in a web-based orientation and then secure an Accreditation Coach from a list of approved coaches. Throughout the process, the coach works with the program to help it meet all 26 quality standards and complete an endorsement visit. Accreditation is a great choice for programs that are looking to foster a team approach to program improvement with a focus on engaging families and children. Accreditation goes above and beyond the School Age Child Care (SACC) regulations. For more information on the course, contact Erin Broderick
