Open Society Foundations Reports

Open Society Foundations recently published two related reports, Where Do We Go From Here? Philanthropic Support for Black Men and Boys and Building a Beloved Community: Strengthening the Field of Black Male Achievement. Where Do We Go From Here? examines U.S. foundation giving explicitly in support of black males by issue area, type of support, and geographic area served. The analyses explore patterns of giving by larger U.S. foundations over the past eight years, with a focus on giving from 2008 to 2010. Building a Beloved Community explores the diverse, multidisciplinary, and cross-sector work to advance black male achievement. Based on interviews with 50 philanthropic, nonprofit, government, academic, and business leaders, the report also offers recommendations for what it will take to strengthen the field moving forward.

PASE believes all kids deserve a safe, nurturing space during out-of-school time where they have opportunities to explore their passions while connecting with and learning from caring adults. We exist to improve the quality of afterschool programs for children and teens living in poverty.
