2025-26 Documentary Lab with Reel Works

Reel Works’ free filmmaking and workforce readiness workshops support and prepare New York City youth with essential insights and skills needed to make their films or work in the media industry. Reel Works students receive hands-on training, learn from professional filmmakers, and use professional equipment to make festival-worthy films. The Documentary Lab is an introductory documentary filmmaking workshop that supports high school students in planning, shooting, editing, and screening a short personal film about their lives and communities. The 2025-2026 Documentary Lab will run from October 27, 2025 - May 8, 2026, taking place on Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM. Apply via this online form by September 28, 2025.
