Service-Learning Resources from National Youth Leadership Council

Are you considering incorporating service learning into your 2025-26 afterschool offerings? The National Youth Leadership Council has curriculum and guides tailored towards leading service-learning initiatives in afterschool learning environments. Head to NYLC’s Resource Library to view their Engage Service-Learning Handbook series, with each edition tailored to a different developmental period: 1. ages 9-11, 2. ages 12-13, and 3. ages 14-18. Each handbook provides a series of 15-20 developmentally appropriate one-hour lesson plans that guide a group through a service-learning process. Check out the broader Resource Library to find other resources for afterschool and out-of-school time providers, including topic-based guides. Note that you will have to provide an email address to view and download resources.

PASE believes all kids deserve a safe, nurturing space during out-of-school time where they have opportunities to explore their passions while connecting with and learning from caring adults. We exist to improve the quality of afterschool programs for children and teens living in poverty.
