Youth Communications Summer Workshop for Teen Writers

The 39th Annual Summer Writing Workshop is for New York City teens, ages 15 - 20, who love to write, want to be published, and want to help other teens by sharing their personal stories. Participants receive one-on-one mentoring from a professional editor, write stories about their personal experiences, go on field trips, and make friends with other writers. Their stories are published in the award-winning YCteen and Represent magazines, which are read by thousands of people each year. No prior experience is required, but participants must be able to attend for all six weeks (July 2-August 9, 2018). All participants receive a $1,000 stipend plus a daily MetroCard. The application deadline is May 18, 2018.
