Youth Development Guide: Engaging young people in after-school programming

Community Network for Youth Development’s Youth Development Guide: Engaging young people in after-school programming focuses on translating the youth development approach from a set of compelling ideas into practical action. The guide was primarily designed as a youth development orientation tool, but also includes resources necessary for deeper exploration of key youth development practices, background research that supports the value of using the youth development approach, and specific and practical advice on how to strengthen individual staff practices and organizational policies in after school programs to support learning and young people's healthy development.

PASE believes all kids deserve a safe, nurturing space during out-of-school time where they have opportunities to explore their passions while connecting with and learning from caring adults. We exist to improve the quality of afterschool programs for children and teens living in poverty.
