Are you an out-of-school time (OST) provider looking for new ways to approach literacy development in your programs? Check out the Out-of-School Time NYC Reads Toolkit, developed by the Center for Public Research and Leadership (CPRL), DYCD, ExpandED Schools, NYCPS and the Office of Community Schools. This new resource celebrates and builds on existing literacy supports already happening in afterschool programs, highlighting the powerful role out-of-school time (OST) educators play in students’ literacy journeys. With ready-to-use tools, planning templates, and real-world spotlights from NYC programs, the toolkit supports OST-school collaboration and joyful, coherent literacy experiences for every child. National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) ’s Summer Planning Bootcamp is just around the corner on April 17, 2026 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM. This virtual session is designed to equip you with tools, ideas, and best practices to elevate your summer program planning. Please consider donating formal wear for the 3rd annual Queens Public Library (QPL) Prom Dress Collection and Giveaway Event. Donate today to help make prom a fun, fabulous, and memorable experience for QPL Teens! You can donate new or gently-used formal wear, shoes, bags, and jewelry before March 20, 2026 – check out this flyer for a full list of the 14 QPL drop-off locations. QPL asks that donors ensure that their donations are in good condition, and encourages laundering or dry-cleaning items before donating them. 

Calling small nonprofits across New York City - want to access city funding and grow your impact? The NYC Mayor’s Office of Nonprofit Services (MONS) is recruiting small nonprofits for their Nonprofit Essentials training series, which starts on April 9. 2026. This 10-week training for leaders of small, community-based nonprofits who want to strengthen their organization, get contract-ready, build capacity, and receive hands on support. Nonprofits are eligible if they: do not currently have a City contract, have an annual budget of under $100,000, and have not participated in other MONS trainings. Apply by March 20, 2026 via their digital application form. 

NYC Arts in Education Roundtable is hosting a virtual workshop series, Teaching Artist Tuesdays, in February 2026. This year’s series will feature sessions on the Freelance Isn’t Free Act and legislation that has been established around payment for freelance workers and nonprofits, tips for teaching artists on navigating local benefits systems, and balancing teaching artist work with one’s own artistic practice. These free Zoom sessions will take place from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM on February 10, 2026, February 17, 2026, and February 24, 2026. Head to their website to learn more and to register.
