Fall 2019 Tech Scholars - New-York Historical Society

Tech Scholars provides High school girls (grades 9-12) with the unique opportunity to explore the digital humanities at New-York Historical Society. Participants will have behind-the-scenes access to the Center for Women’s History where they will meet with curators, graduate fellows, and influential women in the technology field. They will also conduct research on the historical figures and events that continue to impact young women today. The program takes place on Thursdays from September 26 - December 19, 2019. Participation is $300 with Family Membership to N-YHS or $350 per student for non-Members. Full and partial scholarship opportunities are available to applicants who have qualified for free or reduced lunch in the past. Learn more and apply!

The Leadership Institute, Powered by the Girl Scouts of Greater New York

The Leadership Institute, powered by the Girl Scouts of Greater New York, is a comprehensive and progressive College and Career Readiness program that serves girls across New York City in the 6th-12th grades, encouraging girls to explore cutting-edge fields and succeed in them by applying skills the 21st century increasingly demands—innovation, collaboration, communication and critical- and creative-thinking. Writers' Open House for Teens in Foster Care

If you're a young person in foster care and you like the idea of writing stories that will help your peers, Represent, Youth Communication's award-winning magazine for youth in care, may be the place for you. Represent's Annual Open House will take place Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Youth Communication. Meet writers and learn how you can join. bbLeaders Fall Cohort

Building Beats has launched a new program initiative called bbLeaders and is currently accepting applications for their fall cohort. bbLeaders is a core group of our current students, alumni and leaders in the youth music community. Through mentorship, workshops, gigs and employment opportunities, Building Beats helps these young leaders take their growth and development to the next level by providing hands on experience in the music world.

Nets Math Hoops Training Camp

This training, hosted in partnership with the Brooklyn Nets, provides an opportunity for all NYC area educators to learn about the NBA Math Hoops program. Following the session, educators will have the opportunity to sign up for the Math Hoops program experience for their classroom or after-school program. The session takes place at the Barclays Center on Tuesday, October 7, 2019 from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm. Registration is open.

CCC has expanded their Wall Street office to include new space for civic engagement programming, including policy and data briefings, workshops, trainings, networking events, coalition work, and more! They are looking to engage their partners and offer the type of programming that they need. Communities of Color Nonprofit Stabilization Fund

The first New York City Council fund of its kind, CCNSF aims to build the capacity of New York City nonprofits in recognition of the fact that organizations led by people of the community are best equipped to meet the needs of the community. CCNSF is also intended to promote learning among CBO leaders. Applications are due September 23, 2019.
