College Completion Innovation Fund

Graduate NYC has announced the release of the College Completion Innovation Fund's (CCIF) 2021 Award Cycle application. The CCIF supports undergraduate colleges and nonprofit community-based organizations in implementing innovative programs that address the graduation challenges faced by low-income students, first-generation college-goers, students of color, and others who are traditionally underrepresented among college degree holders. Graduate NYC will continue to update the CCIF 2021 Award Cycle page with webinar links and materials you may refer to for CCIF application guidance. The initial application is due on February 8, 2021.

Workshop to Promote Community Leadership

Queens Public Library is offering tips and resources to expand your leadership skills. Learn effective leadership skills and best practices to strengthen how you work and collaborate with others. This virtual workshop is open to all adults, with an emphasis on local residents, professionals, and community advocates interested in making a difference. New York State Afterschool Advocacy Week 2021

New York State Network for Youth Success invites you to join participants, parents, program providers, and fellow supporters of afterschool, summer, and expanded learning programs in advocating for New York’s children and families. Afterschool Advocacy Week 2021 will take place virtually from January 25-29, 2021. Registration is open until January 20, 2021.

Child and Family Well-being in New York State

Citizens' Committee for Children of New York has released a new well-being index for New York State. The index, "Child and Family Well-being in New York State: Ranking Risks Across 62 Counties," is a first-of-its-kind, in-depth examination of county level data across six domains of child and family well-being. The study examines county-level data across six domains of well-being and reveals that far too many children across New York State experience poverty, housing insecurity, health risks, educational opportunity gaps, and other conditions that challenge their right to thrive and live healthy productive lives.

Youth Service Improvement Grants

William T. Grant Foundation's Youth Service Improvement Grants (YSIG) program supports activities to improve the quality of direct services for young people ages 5 to 25 in the five boroughs of New York City. The goal is to strengthen existing services by helping youth-serving nonprofit organizations address challenges or remedy problems at the point of service, where staff and youth interact. Awards are $25,000 each and support projects lasting one year, starting on September 1, 2021. Applications are due March 11, 2021 at 3:00 PM.
