Voicing Our Future Youth Survey

Citizens' Committee for Children's YouthAction members are calling on all New Yorkers ages 14 to 24 to complete a citywide survey of young people to make sure that the next Mayor and City Council understand and prioritize youth voices. They will use the data they collect from the survey to advocate for a youth agenda during the 2021 citywide elections and to create a transition plan for the new administration that centers youth voices. To participate, text YOUTH to 877-661-5647 or fill out this google form. Youth will receive a $5 gift card for completing the survey.

College Board BigFuture Days

College Board is launching its inaugural BigFuture Days, a regional series of free virtual college fairs for high school sophomores and juniors to help connect them with hundreds of colleges, admissions officers, and current college students. BigFuture Days are designed to give students a tailored experience to establish connections with colleges and take action on important college planning tasks, like building a college list and identifying scholarships to apply for. BigFuture Days Northeast will take place on March 7, 2021 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Blueprint Info Session

Blueprint at Community Access is a Supported Education program offering services grounded in the belief that mental health struggles do not preclude a successful education. They provide services to adults 18 years and older who live in New York City and have a history of mental health conditions. Blueprint is designed to support current students and students who plan to enroll in a high school equivalency, vocational, or college program in the near future (within the next six months). People interested in support can request a meeting. No official referral is required.

COVID-19 Vaccine Q&A for Afterschool Staff

The COVID-19 vaccine is now available for childcare and school-age childcare providers in New York State. The NYS Network for Youth Success invites you and your team to a conversation about the available vaccines. Join them on February 24, 2021 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM to hear from a panel of medical and public health experts who are ready to answer your questions and help you make an informed decision. Registration is now open and additional resources and recorded information sessions on the COVID-19 vaccine are available.

SparkYouth NYC RFP

SparkYouth NYC is soliciting proposals for participation in its 9th cohort. The cohort's funding and participation will run from 2022 through 2024. Selected organizations receive both a multi-year investment and a comprehensive nonprofit management curriculum to encourage programs and their leadership to invest in the future by hiring and developing staff, increasing program capacity, improving facilities and deepening support for NYC youth. Applications are due by March 12, 2021, and decisions will be made this summer.
