Basta Winter/Spring 2022 Fellowship Cohort

Basta is now accepting applications for the Basta Fellowship, a rigorous career prep program designed to support students in landing a great first job and provide them with coaching across their first year of work. The program includes weekend workshops, weekly virtual meetings, 1:1 calls with dedicated coaches, and opportunities to meet top companies and interview for full-time jobs. This website has been field-tested with high school students, is free of ads, and privacy protected. On this site, seemingly complicated, college-related issues are transformed into articles, videos, and even games that are simple, clear, and easy to follow.

STEM Family Engagement Planning Tool

STEM Next has partnered with Drs. Patty Allen and Gil Noam of the Institute for the Study of Resilience in Youth (ISRY) at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School to create the STEM Family Engagement Planning Tool. This Planning Tool introduces a new framework for family engagement in STEM known as CARE: Connect, Act, Reflect, and Empower. CARE is a simple way of organizing ideas from research and practice to provide a shared and equitable vision for family engagement in STEM.

The Campaign for Children (C4C) seeks responses from youth-facing professionals across the city to understand staffing challenges in delivering programming for the 2021-2022 school year. Their 5-minute survey will inform C4C's advocacy goals in addition to previous feedback already shared from their direct service colleagues.

The Hurricane Ida Disaster Relief Fund is being managed by the NYS Office for New Americans to assist undocumented individuals from the 5 NYC Boroughs, Suffolk, Westchester, and Rockland. Chinese-American Planning Council Brooklyn Community Services has partnered with ONA to provide information, assistance, and help for residents who were impacted by the storm.
