Dr. Jocelynne Rainey

Dr. Jocelynne Rainey is a leader in New York City’s nonprofit sector and a seasoned executive with over 25 years of leadership experience. As President & CEO of Brooklyn Org, Dr. Rainey has led Brooklyn Org’s bold evolution from Brooklyn Community Foundation to create a more inclusive and accessible model for community philanthropy. Under Dr. Rainey’s leadership since 2021, Brooklyn Org has surpassed $150 million in total giving and expanded its sector-leading commitments to racial justice and community engagement.
Previously, she was CEO and President of Getting Out and Staying Out (GOSO), working with youth involved in the justice system. For several years, she was Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation.
A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, Dr. Rainey holds a master’s in administration from Metropolitan College and a doctorate in Leadership from St. John Fisher College. Dr. Rainey serves on numerous boards, including the New York City Workforce Development Board and as a trustee of several civic, educational, and cultural institutions across New York City.
