John Claypool

Uncommon Schools

John Claypool has been the Regional Superintendent of Operations for Uncommon Schools, Rochester Prep, since 2017. In this role, he has the privilege of overseeing and managing operations at 7 Rochester Prep schools, and serving nearly 3,000 students enrolled in Rochester Prep schools. Prior to this position, Mr. Claypool was the Director of Operations at Rochester Prep High School from 2016-2017, and the Director of Operations at Rochester Prep Brooks Campus Middle School from 2013 – 2016. He joined Rochester Prep as the founding History teacher at Rochester Prep Chili Campus Middle School in 2011. Prior to joining Rochester Prep, Mr. Claypool taught at Remington Middle School in Franklin, MA from 2005-2011. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Social Studies Education from Syracuse University in 2005 and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Organizational Management from Endicott College in 2010
