Peter Ng-A-Fook

Multicultural High School

Peter Ng-A-Fook has served his community at Multicultural High School, a secondary school specifically designed for Spanish-speaking newcomers in the Brooklyn/Queens area as both the Assistant Principal and Principal for 13 years.  He is particularly passionate about social justice.  As an educator, he has demonstrated throughout his career an unwavering commitment to promoting educational equity and providing ample and diverse opportunities to his historically underserved students; opportunities that improve students’ academic performance and increase their chances for their brilliance and humanity to be expressed, seen and valued.

At Multicultural HS, Peter has developed strong and successful partnerships with external community-based and City organizations and agencies resulting in academic, social-emotional, and workforce development initiatives for both his students and their families.  These initiatives include but are not limited to access to various college programs, immigration clinics, individual legal representation, adult education classes, citizenship classes, housing programs, mental health services, and medical insurance supports.  For Peter this is just the beginning, the best is yet to come for his school community.

Peter began his career in education as an elementary school teacher, then as a history teacher at the middle school level, followed by several years as a Dean of Students.  He earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education at St. John's University.  Outside of school time, you might find Peter traveling the world, trying out a new restaurant, and spending time with his family.
