Megan Demarkis
Megan Demarkis has been a bilingual teacher, youth worker, trainer, curriculum developer and leader in the youth development and education fields for 17 years. During her 11 year tenure at Harlem RBI, Megan developed and executed the organization's approach to program evaluation, curriculum development, staff training and performance management. In addition she designed and directed several award winning academic, sports and enrichment programs for youth of all ages at Harlem RBI's flagship location in El Barrio. Prior to joining the Harlem RBI staff, Megan helped create the Teach for America Teacher Training Institute in the Bronx where she served as the Director of Operations for 2 years. She has also worked as a 2nd grade bilingual teacher with the DOE and an advisor on classroom management technique for the New York City Teaching Fellows. Megan received her Bachelor's Degree in Literature from Bard College and has completed certificate programs at Columbia University's Institute for Not-for-Profit Management and the Participatory Evaluation Institute through the CUNY Graduate School in collaboration with the Robert Bowne Foundation. Most recently she completed the IISC's Facilitative Leadership and Masterful Trainer workshop series. As a new(ish) mom and an avid traveler, Megan is taking some time away from the "10 to 8" world. She now works on a variety of free lance projects and conducts trainings across the city.
