Madeleine Fackler

International Rescue Committee

(she/her)

Madeleine has been committed her entire professional life to supporting others.   She started as a software lab engineer developing applications at Hewlett Packard at a time when technology was still leveraged by only a few. Her hope was that applications could help change that.  She finished her time working in the for-profit world with Johnson & Johnson as the overall Interim Chief Information Officer.   She lived by the tag line used at J&J at the time: “Patients are Waiting”.  After leaving J&J, she joined the humanitarian aid group, the International Rescue Committee, starting first as their Chief Information Officer and eventually becoming their Chief Information & Operations Officer.  She retired from that role in January 2025, having helped the IRC grow to be a $1.6B organization supporting refugees, migrant workers, and asylum seekers across the globe.

Despite her busy career, Madeleine has always made time for helping non-profits, serving on multiple Boards, including Smith College’s Board of Trustees, Accion Opportunity Fund, Palo Alto University, Facing History & Ourselves and PASE.  What links all of these groups together is the focus on education.

She joined PASE’s Board in 2016 and has served as the Finance Committee Chairman since 2017. She genuinely cares about supporting after school education and has shared her expertise in operations and technology as one important mechanism to make PASE the best it can be.
