Corina Liu

Commonpoint

Corina holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Education from CUNY York College. She furthered her expertise by earning a Master’s degree in School Counseling from St. John’s University, where she honed her skills in providing comprehensive support to youth. Corina’s passion for helping youth navigate their postsecondary education journey was sparked during her internship, where she witnessed the impact that individual guidance and mentorship can have on a young person’s future.

Corina is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for students to flourish. She is committed to fostering academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and career planning. Corina believes that by addressing all aspects of a student’s development, she can help youth reach their full potential and succeed in life, both in and outside of the classroom.

Corina joined Commonpoint in March 2022 as the Program Coordinator of the College Access program. Soon after, Corina’s leadership abilities were recognized, and she was promoted to the role of Director of the College Access and Persistence program. Corina aimed to transform the program from a small team of two staff members into a thriving initiative that now serves 25 high schools across Queens.

In recognition of her continued contributions to Commonpoint and the youth she serves, Corina is currently the Director of the Youth Opportunity Hub, Commonpoint's youth center located in Jamaica, Queens, where she now oversees a range of programs aimed at empowering young people to access opportunities for success. Her role allows her to continue advocating for youth and ensuring that they have the support they need to achieve their educational and career goals.

Outside of her professional work, Corina loves to dance, travel, and try out new restaurants. She always seeking opportunities to learn and explore new experiences!
