Shanda Holt

Children's Aid

Shanda Holt is an experienced Community School Director with Children’s Aid, partnering with Children’s Aid College Prep Charter School which serves over 600 K-8 grade scholars in the South Bronx. As a native New Yorker and a former student of our educational system, Shanda truly understands the importance of community partnerships and its role in developing children’s social-emotional well-being. As such, she has passionately worked in youth development for over twenty years. Holding a Masters degree from Columbia University, her background includes teaching health, science, and physical education with the Department of Education and has taught in NYC charter school in Harlem. She has successfully implemented and managed middle and high school Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD) after school programs with a focus on helping young people build skills to support their academic achievement, increase their confidence and cultivate their leadership skills through service learning and civic engagement opportunities. As Shanda continues her journey in Community Schools work, she desires to continue to foster social-emotional and cultural experiences for our youth.
