For Each and Every Child: A Strategy for Education Equity and Excellence

The Equity and Excellence Commission of Congress has submitted its report to U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan on the disparities in meaningful educational opportunities that give rise to the national achievement gap. For Each and Every Child: A Strategy for Education Equity and Excellence focuses on systems of finance and ways in which federal and state policies could address these disparities. In response, the National Opportunity to Learn Campaign, an independent organization, has created an “Equity Checklist," distilling what it sees as the most important policies put forward by the Commission and supported by advocates and organizers around the country. The checklist is designed to be a blueprint of evidence-based proposals for ensuring equity and opportunity for each and every child. Download the full report or an overview of its findings, or download the "Equity Checklist."
