Beyond Boundaries: Empowering Youth Workers Through Intersectional Understanding

December 09, 2025 10:00 am to 11:30 am

A workshop for DYCD funded organizations

In order to register for this event you need to or first.

This online session is for staff interested in being more interested in developing an intersectional analysis and to support LGBTQ+ young people and adults in their programs.

LGBTQIA+ youth of color and transgender teenagers experience unique challenges and elevated stress, and according to the Human Rights Campaign, only 11% of youth of color believe their racial/ ethnic group is regarded positively in the U.S. In Kimberlé Crenshaw’s words, let’s work together to ensure that no one “falls through the cracks of our movements.” Through reflecting on our own intersectional identities, privileges, and marginalization, we can better serve LGBTQIA+ youth with multiple intersecting identities.

This workshop is intended for DYCD funded organizations. DYCD Staff are welcome. This professional development opportunity is provided at no cost to you but has a value of $230 for DYCD. If you register for and are subsequently unable to attend this session you are responsible for cancelling your registration or risk being waitlisted for future events.
