Building Resilience: Mental Health Symposium

September 24, 2024 9:30 am to 1:00 pm

Join us in person on Tuesday, September 24th for a Mental Health Symposium targeting CBOs in Lower Manhattan.

In order to register for this event you need to or first.

Event Description

Supporting the social and emotional development of young people is at the heart of effective afterschool programming. In these out-of-school-time spaces, caring adults often become the trusted individuals that young people turn to. These educators are uniquely positioned to equip youth with the skills they need to identify and manage their emotions, build healthy relationships, and practice mindfulness.

As youth mental health continues to gain attention, and with many programs lacking dedicated mental health providers, now is a crucial time for our field to strengthen our practices. By exploring and integrating strategies and resources, we can more holistically support the well-being of the young people we serve.

To help address these challenges, PASE invites you to our Building Resilience: Mental Health Symposium on Tuesday, September 24th from 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM. The event will feature a presentation on the pivotal role afterschool programs can play in fostering positive mental health among youth. Following the presentation, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with numerous organizations that offer mental health support services and resources to enhance your programs.

Who should attend? This event prioritizes programs serving Lower Manhattan children and families but is open to all.
